Privacy
Privacy-first HEIC conversion
heictoimg is built so selected image files are converted locally in your browser. This page explains that file privacy boundary and how it differs from normal website systems.
Your image files stay local
When you choose a HEIC file, the browser reads it from your device and converts it using code running on the page. The original HEIC file and converted JPG, PNG, or WebP output are not uploaded to heictoimg.com servers for conversion.
The converted file is made available in your browser so you can save it. Clearing the file list removes the in-page references to the selected and converted files.
File privacy is separate from analytics
heictoimg uses page-level analytics to understand site usage. Analytics are separate from conversion and do not require uploading the image file, file contents, previews, or original file names to heictoimg.com.
Local preferences stay in your browser
The site can store interface preferences such as theme and preferred language in your browser. These preferences are not your photos and are used only to make the interface open in the mode or language you selected.
Future ads are a different category
If ads are enabled in the future, ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies. That would be disclosed separately and would not change the rule that your selected HEIC image files are not uploaded to heictoimg.com servers for conversion.
